April 2006: Latest news

The team have been working towards the new challenge and as part of this, the design of a new wing has been almost completed and the manufacture is progressing with the aim of taking to the water in the summer of 2006. Pictures will be posted in further news updates as well as in the monthly newsletter.

The team have purchased a Stealth F16 catamaran for initiating research into hydrofoil technology. At the 2004 event, Patient Lady VI was fitted with curved "bannana" boards. These were not designed to lift the craft out of the water, but they did make a noticable improvement to the boat and succeeded in winning races against Cogito. After the races the boat did leave the water, however this excurtion was very un-controlled and was not attempted again

The teams financial support from Airbus has not continued into our next challenge, though they are sponsoring us in kind, with facilities and other in-kind forms of support, therefore the team are currently looking for a financial sponsor to support the UK challenge at the 2007 races in Toronto.
